I had previously mentioned sharing songs that help me when writing or make me think of specific characters. Today I've been listening to Scared To Be Lonely (Medasin Remix) by Martin Garrix & Dua Lipa while I've been working on a chapter for the new novel I'm working on. The song brings up a good point about how sometimes we settle for certain people because we don't want to be alone. It reminded me of Claire from my trilogy series. She spent a lot of her youth trying to fill up a void inside her with meaningless relationships, but by the third novel I think we see how much progress she's made as a person to give herself more respect and care by being selective with the company she keeps. Claire's character in my eyes has always shown a good example of being knocked down and misunderstood by people, but not letting it completely turn her cold. She tries to redeem herself by becoming a better person and learning to properly respect herself which is something I think we should all take note of. This song has so many remixes of it but this one is a bit more relaxed compared to the others making it perfect for writing a chapter that has some serious topics between all the fun moments in it. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Have fun and stay safe! :)

Almost every story has some sort of connection to the importance of friends and how they are an essential part of development in youth. I think it goes without saying that the Cassadine series has a lot of family and friendship throughout its three novels. I spent a lot of years writing and fixing the relationship dynamics between all my characters with the idea that a slow sense of maturity would eventually come out of all the kids by the time the third book was written. The reason I choose to emphasize emotional bonds in my work is due to first hand experience to seeing how not everyone is fortunate enough to have a supportive family behind them. I decided to use the Cassadine series as an opportunity to show the healthy relationship that can be created between adoptive children and their adoptive parents. I also wanted to display how some friendships can start off rocky, such as Sebastian and Stefan, but can gradually turn into a meaningful connection. I've always been open about my feelings and opinions when it comes to this particular topic and I have no intention on shying away from writing about it. It's difficult to find at least one honest friend especially in the world we're currently living in, but the effect a person can have on someone's life truly can change that person's course. I may not know how many people I might have influenced for the better, but I hope that I can continue to reach out to as many people as I can and help at least one person through my books. Hopefully, my characters like Sebastian, Rosalia, Elizabeth, Stefan, Arbri, and Marcus are inspiring people to be as kind as they can while maintaining healthy friendships that can last a lifetime.

If you saw my last post, it was all about how music has helped influence my writing. So I thought of making a post on nights where a certain song is helping me get in the mood of my characters or a specific moment I'm trying to create. I figured maybe it would benefit everyone and be fun, anyone reading can get a good idea of what I do when I write while also getting an idea of the different types of music I enjoy and if you don't know the songs already maybe you can find one that you like. I don't know if that would interest anyone, but I'm willing to give it a try.

Tonight the song that I've played so many times to help feel out one of my characters is You and I (Stripped Version) by PVRIS. The lyrics are so beautiful even if they are sad, but I feel like the sound and words of the song are perfect for the current state of mind one of my new main characters is in. When I heard this song I automatically thought of the character I'm working on, there's so much going on inside of her head and inside of the mind of her potential love interest that could really make them or break them. I don't want to give away too much about either character, but I will say that there is a common ground that they share that requires them to meet each other half way in order to peacefully become companions. There's a sort of sad beauty with these two and this particular song really reflects that soft, melancholy, and yet beautiful chemistry I envision for them.

Well, since it's two o'clock in the morning, I think I will go off now to write for another twenty or thirty minutes before I go to bed. I hope you enjoy this new little post I'll be doing some nights. Wherever you are in the world I hope you have an amazing night or day!
